So today the office was busy updating press lists and sending e-mails to organisations. Meanwhile on the other side of the table, Longlong was preparing forms for another upcoming competition.
Having completed the majority of the discussions last week, we all have clear ideas of our individual and collective targets ahead of the April/ May store. As well as this, it means that we can also make detailed and thorough plans which is great to strengthen our vision for the pop-up but also our first permanent store.
So this week has been productive – not least because everyone returned recharged from the weekend. Sophie went to the Royal Opera House on Friday to watch the Royal Ballet perform Sleeping Beauty. For those of you who have seen it you will know that the part of Aurora is considered amongst ballet dancers as one of the most demanding roles. The music of Tchaikovsky is also beautifully iconic and makes ‘Sleeping Beauty’ a part of the core repertoire of most ballet companies.
For Sophie it was a mesmerising evening. Sarah Lamb as Princess Aurora, along with her partner Steven McRae, gave a stunning performance, sincere in emotion and great vivacity in movement. Loud cries of ‘Bravo’ sealed the success of the performance. Sounds like it’s something we all need to see!
